Cecilia Jo Murillo, MD
Dr. Murillo is a board certified family physician. Originally from El Paso, Dr. Murillo received her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in 2014 and graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences School of Medicine in 2017. Dr. Murillo completed her residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Department of Family Medicine in Lubbock and a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine. She will have privileges at Uvalde Memorial Hospital for adult and pediatric admissions, and obstetrics including deliveries, tubal ligation, and dilation/curettage. Dr. Murillo believes the two most important events in life are birth and death. “There is so much care and attention given during birth. The same should occur with death.” During Dr. Murillo’s free time, she enjoys taking her two rescue dogs on walks and hikes. She also enjoys playing the ukulele and cooking.
Jane Dimmitt Champion, PhD, DNP, FNP, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Jane Dimmitt Champion received her BSN from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, her MSN in Adult Health Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, an MA in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio, her PhD in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and a DNP from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis. She has earned post-graduate certifications as a FNP from Texas Tech University, as a CNS in Psych/Mental Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and as a CNS in Adult Health from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed a 2 year National Institute of Health post-doctoral fellowship in Minority Women’s Health, STI, and Violence at from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and a second 1 year Centers for Disease Control/Association of Teachers of Prevention Medicine post-doctoral fellowship in STI/HIV Research at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is currently a Professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
